Hiroo Mirchandani is an independent director with experience of nine boards including a bank board. She currently serves as an Independent Director on the boards of Polycab India Ltd., Nilkamal Ltd., & Roots Corporation Ltd.-a subsidiary of IHCL. She brings operational experience and financial literacy to her presence on Audit committees, Nomination & Remuneration and other board committees. Hiroo contributes to strategic issues by tapping into her consumer insights and intellectual curiosity. She facilitates cross-pollination of best corporate governance practices from her experience as an independent director and retail investor.

Prior to her Governance role, Hiroo had a career spanning over thirty years in Sales, Marketing and P&L management. She grew from being Branch Manager at Asian Paints to Business Unit Director and Executive Committee member at Pfizer. She led a team of over 300 colleagues with India wide responsibility for revenue and profits of the Consumer Health Business unit of Pfizer. Hiroo transformed her division's business model by developing her team's capabilities in customer and trade channel management. She was selected as a Global Great Manager for engaging today’s talent, delivering results and shaping Pfizer’s future.

Hiroo was the India Marketing Director of World Gold Council, the international organization for advocacy of gold. She initiated several gold promotion programs with jewellers, manufacturers and designers to brand gold. This opened up a new segment of trendy, lightweight gold jewellery targeted at Indian youth.

At Dabur, Hiroo was Marketing Manager of the INR 4000 mn Healthcare division that marketed foods, mother and child products, digestives and pure Ayurvedics. The division she led, recorded 23% compounded average growth with most brands outpacing market growth. Dabur Chyawanprash was repositioned as an immunity builder which resulted in its five-fold growth and Dabur Honey grew 10 fold under her leadership.

In her early years, as Branch Manager at Asian Paints, Hiroo was amongst the few women field managers in the consumer goods sector in the 1980s. She had responsibility for sales, collections and warehouse operations based in the small town of Rajkot in Gujarat. This gave her firsthand experience of consumers, influencers and trade in middle and rural India.

Hiroo is a Chevening Gurukul Scholar from the London School of Economics and an MBA in Marketing and Finance from Faculty of Management Studies. She has a Bachelor's degree in Commerce from Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University. She has successfully completed the Online Proficiency Test for Independent Directors conducted by IICA under the aegis of Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
